Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable General Labourer to join our team. This role involves assisting with a variety of outdoor and construction-related tasks, contributing to landscape maintenance, construction projects, and general site upkeep. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture, gardening, and maintenance work, with the ability to operate various tools and machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop practical skills within the construction and landscaping sectors.

Duties

Assisting with landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, and turf care
Operating hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to support site preparation and ongoing maintenance
Using power tools safely for tasks such as cutting, drilling, and assembling structures
Supporting excavation activities using equipment like excavators under supervision
Installing and maintaining irrigation systems across different sites
Performing general site clearance and waste removal to ensure a safe working environment
Assisting with construction tasks including material handling, site organisation, and basic assembly work
Conducting routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance
Supporting horticultural activities related to gardening and plant care

Requirements

Prior experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is key
Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with power tools and hand tools is advantageous
Ability to operate or learn to operate machinery such as excavators is preferred
Basic understanding of irrigation systems and general maintenance practices
Physical fitness to undertake manual labour tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
Strong organisational skills with attention to safety procedures on-site
Reliable with a proactive attitude towards teamwork and task completion
Previous experience in construction or gardening roles will be considered an asset
