Full job description

Overview
Intamet Limited is a long established International Stainless Steel Stockholder. We are seeking a professional and reliable 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for safely operating our 7.5-tonne & 3.5-Tonne flatbed vehicles to deliver our goods within typically a 100 mile radius of Fareham, albeit a Birmingham run is often weekly. This role is not a multi-drop position, and delivers to business. The varied role is not all driving Monday-Friday and extends to assisting making up of customer orders within a small team, and other tasks.

Duties

Safely operate company vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
Deliver products to various locations in a timely and professional manner
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries
Follow planned routes and adapt to any route changes or delays efficiently
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the day
Communicate effectively.

Requirements

Valid Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) driving licence with a clean driving record & CPC.
Able to demonstrate proven regular experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
Full understanding of tachograph rules
Excellent organisational skills and punctuality
Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules
Physically fit as a degree of manual lifting is required
Positive attitude and a team player. This role is ideal for motivated person who takes pride in their work, prioritise safety, enjoys working as part of a small team and willing to learn for what is a varied and interesting position.

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
