Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our head chef in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth operation in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their culinary skills and gaining valuable experience in a professional kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
Support the catering team in preparing ingredients and organising kitchen stations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, equipment, and surfaces.
Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Serve food to customers or staff as required, ensuring proper presentation and portion control.
Help with stock rotation, inventory checks, and restocking supplies as needed.
Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing additional assistance where required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food preparation, safety standards, and kitchen hygiene practices.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment.
Prior experience with meal preparation or serving is advantageous but not mandatory. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service and eager to develop their culinary expertise in a supportive environment.
