Established in 1906, Kentmere Limited, part of the Grenadier Packaging Group, has developed an enviable reputation as one of the leading producers of carton board packaging in the UK. We have a long history and heritage and are based in the picturesque village of Staveley, near Kendal.

Role Overview:We are a well-established packaging manufacturer supplying high-quality solutions to a wide range of customers looking for Trainee Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team.

This is a training-focused support role working closely with the Engineering Manager, who will provide hands-on development in preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and machine troubleshooting. Ideal for someone starting their engineering career or looking to progress within manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support day-to-day maintenance of packaging machinery

· Assist with preventative maintenance schedules

· Help diagnose and resolve basic mechanical and electrical faults

· Carry out routine inspections and minor repairs

· Complete appropriate admin upon completion of tasks

Skills & Experience:

· Interest in engineering and manufacturing

· Willingness to learn and develop practical skills

· Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge (training provided)

· Engineering qualification or apprenticeship desirable but not essential

· Basic computer skills
