Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment. The Commis Chef will work under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring all food safety standards are maintained while supporting the creation of high-quality dishes. This position is fully paid and suitable for those eager to grow their career in the culinary arts.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards
Support food production processes, ensuring timely and efficient service during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
Help with portion control and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
Support senior chefs with menu preparations, ingredient handling, and stock management
Supervise junior team members when required, fostering a collaborative and productive kitchen environment
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness throughout all kitchen areas

Qualifications

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Strong interest in culinary arts and food production
Good understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of restaurant service, food preparation, cooking techniques, and hospitality operations is preferred
A proactive attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and culinary excellence

Salary negotiable.
