PART-TIME AUTOMOTIVE SALES EXECUTIVE (FLEXIBLE / HYBRID)
Location: Flexible Working – West Wellow, Romsey + Remote Working

We are an independent car dealership with around 30–40 vehicles in stock, focused on well-prepared, quality cars and a straightforward, honest approach to selling.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced salesperson to take ownership of the customer journey and play a key role in the next stage of the business.
About the Role
This is a flexible, part-time role designed for an experienced automotive salesperson who wants to step away from long hours, rigid schedules, and high-pressure targets—without sacrificing earning potential.
You will own the entire Front of House operation, dealing with customers directly for enquiries, managing leads, completing deals, taking after-sales and servicing bookings (for the mechanic to then manage), and dealing with complaints. We have a generous pay structure, which rewards you for good service, not just sales, and is therefore highly achievable.
You will manage the full customer journey, from first enquiry through to aftersales, building genuine relationships so customers see us as a trusted expert—not just somewhere to buy a car.
This is a hybrid role. Much of your work can be completed remotely, with time on-site for appointments as required. You will mostly be working independently, and have freedom to shape the role to best suit the organisation.

Who This Role Is Ideal For
- Someone with main dealer or independent dealership experience (although this doesn't need to be recent)
- At least 5+ years in automotive sales
- A salesperson who still enjoys the job but wants a shorter, more flexible week
- Someone looking to step away from long hours and constant pressure
- A professional who values quality service, repeat business, and customer relationships
- Someone used to working within a smaller dealership environment, and able to carry out the front of house operation themselves
- You should live less than 40 minutes from site, in order to be able to facilitate customer appointments
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all enquiries (phone, email, online platforms)
- Following up leads and maintaining consistent communication
- Building strong rapport and trust with customers
- Conducting sales appointments (on-site as required)
- Managing aftersales, including liaising with garages and warranty providers
- Creating and managing vehicle listings: photography, descriptions, uploads
- Managing and developing social media presence
- Assisting with day-to-day operations, including vehicle collections and deliveries
- Light vehicle preparation / cleaning when required
- Encouraging repeat business and long-term customer relationships
- Working with the workshop to ensure PDI reports are completed for each vehicle
- Managing complaints to resolution
Earnings & Pay Structure
- Guaranteed base income: £23,000 per annum (pro-rata equivalent)
- Commission & Incentives:
- £80 per vehicle sold
- Additional 4% of profit on any deal exceeding £1,500 margin
- Customer reviews:
- 4★ = £20
- 5★ = £40
- Warranty sales: £50
- Servicing plans: £35
- Add-ons (e.g. Cherish My Vehicle): £15
- Finance deals: £30
- £80 bonus for successfully resolving an aftersales issue amicably with no further escalation
Earnings Potential
This role offers realistic on-target earnings of £40,000+ on a part-time basis (full-time equivalent £70–75k).
Based on current stock levels (30–40 vehicles) and enquiry volume, a salesperson working 20–25 hours per week can typically expect to be involved in 8–12 vehicle sales per month, with additional income generated through warranties, finance, and customer service incentives.
How the structure works in practice:
- The flat £80 per vehicle provides consistent, predictable earnings
- The additional 4% profit share on stronger-margin deals rewards higher-value sales
- Layered incentives (finance, warranty, reviews, and aftersales resolution) ensure income is not dependent on any single element
This creates a balanced earning model—offering both stability and upside, without the volatility or pressure of traditional commission structures.
Additional Earning Opportunities (Optional)
Performance Upside
- Based on a typical expectation of around 11 vehicle sales per month
- 6% of profit paid on every vehicle sold above this level, in addition to standard commission and incentives
- Allows earnings to scale significantly for those choosing to increase activity
- Example: selling 2 additional average-margin vehicles above target could generate ~£500+ extra income
Vehicle Collections / Deliveries & Valeting
- Paid at £21 per hour
- Fuel and expenses covered
- Straightforward, low-stress work
No obligation to take on additional hours—this is entirely optional.
