Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We’re looking for a Category Buyer to join our Group Procurement team at Royal London on a 12-month basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their procurement career to develop their expertise across a wide range of categories, supporting sourcing activity and delivering commercial value across the business.

You’ll play a key role in supporting procurement projects, working closely with stakeholders across Royal London Group and Royal London Asset Management to ensure effective supplier management and cost optimisation. With a structured development plan in place, this role offers a great progression path to further your career in Procurement.

About the role

Support end-to-end procurement activity including tendering, supplier selection and contract negotiation.
Lead low to medium spend and risk procurement projects under guidance, delivering cost savings and commercial value.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Produce and present spend analysis reports.
Support category strategies through market research.
Assist with supplier due diligence and work with procurement systems.

Strong commercial awareness and interest in procurement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills.
Collaborative approach and team mindset.
Strong digital skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to AI.
Graduate calibre with desire to work towards MCIPS.
