Estimator / Contracts Manager – Industrial Coatings & Surface Preparation

Location: Alltami, North Wales
Hours: Full time but flexible
Salary: Starting from £36,000.00

We specialise in industrial coatings, intumescent coatings, multi-coat epoxy systems, and specialist linings for industrial and structural steelwork. Our mission is to provide innovative, reliable, and safe solutions for our clients while maintaining a highly skilled, supportive workforce.

The Role
We are looking for a technically skilled and highly motivated Estimator / Contracts Manager to join our small but growing team. This role is central to streamlining our quoting and project management process for industrial clients, combining technical expertise, commercial insight, and client-facing skills.

You will be responsible for:

· Preparing accurate estimates and quotations for industrial shot blasting, surface preparation, and protective coating contracts.

· Performing Material Take Offs (MTOs) and evaluating workforce, equipment, and material requirements for projects.

· Conducting site visits and job walks to fully understand project scope and customer requirements.

· Liaising with clients to discuss proposals, clarify requirements, and offer technical solutions.

· Supporting our Works Director in planning, scheduling, and delivering projects efficiently.

· Monitoring and reporting on project progress, including costs, timelines, and resource allocation.

· Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards throughout the contracting process.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

· Proven experience in the structural steel, industrial coatings, or surface preparation industry.

· Strong technical understanding of industrial steelwork, abrasive blasting and protective coating systems.

· Competence in estimating workforce, materials, and equipment for industrial contracts.

· Experience with client communication, site surveys, and project planning.

· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.

· A proactive approach to improving processes and supporting business growth.
