Regarded as a premier installer of Remote Monitored CCTV – as well as IP CCTV, Intruder Alarms and Access Control - Scorpion Security was originally formed in 1990 and is one of the most recognised Security Providers in Northamptonshire. In addition to the electronics side of the business we are well known for our high service standards in the delivery of Key Holding, Response, Mobile Patrols and Guarding.
We are experiencing unprecedented levels of expansion and so a need to further build out our engineering teams has developed.
The Role:
We are pleased to announce we are accepting applications for a further Security Systems Engineer to join the business.
As a company we primarily focus our service delivery upon the following Manufacturers:
Xtralis Adpro, Optex, GJD, Toa, Ajax, Plena, HIK Vision, Pelco, Eaton/Scantronic, Pyronix, Galaxy, Texecom, Visonic, Paxton, CAME, Videx/Rhino
Qualification & Skills:
As an engineer you would be involved in all aspects of our delivery from installations to servicing and maintenance as well as repairs, although the right candidate can choose a preferred discipline/preference - the right candidate will be able to highlight the following skill set:
- A minimum of 3 years working for another Security Installation Company.
- Experience in CCTV, Graded Intruder Alarm, Access Control installations and Repair.
- Be able to work independently and initiatively and as part of the wider engineering team when required.
- To adhere to NSI codes of practice and industry standards.
- To support/liaise with the Engineers Manager.
- Great time management skills and high attention to detail.
The right candidate will be over 25 years of age and hold a current, full UK drivers licence. They will be prepared to work Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30pm (40 Hour Week) and be part of an out of hours on call roster on a 4 week rotational basis - this is rewarded by an on call increment of £50 per week when on call, with additional payments for any out of hours telephone calls or callout attendances required when on call that week.
A daily travel benefit is also paid and added to monthly pay as well as a monthly phone allowance.
Further optional opportunities for overtime are also possible, should you desire. Ideally you will also hold a current IPAF licence - however training can be arranged if that's not the case.
The majority of our work remains within local travel distance - 30 minutes or so - of our Northampton offices, however we do work nationally for a number of higher profile clients.
Salary & Benefits:
An incentive program also ensures that all engineering personnel are financially rewarded beyond the time spent on site, ensuring that travel time is also met fairly.
The role benefits from a basic wage, dependent on experience up to £32,500 per annum with on target earnings expected to be in advance of £37,000 a fully livered vehicle including fuel, all required power and hand tools, a company laptop and mobile phone allowance in addition to the optional company pensions scheme. All PPE and uniform is also supplied. In addition to the 8 statutory bank holidays, a holiday entitlement of 20 days also applies. A work place pension scheme also exists and is optional for all staff members.
We introduced an Engineer’s Career Path scheme several years ago, which has helped our existing engineers develop and learn in the job – all designed to move an individual upwards and increase earnings as the company grows.
