What you'll be doing:You’ll lead on community engagement and volunteering, taking an “outside‑in” approach — meaning you’ll shape plans and decisions based on community insight, lived experience and local needs.
You’ll build partnerships, create inclusive volunteering experiences, lead volunteer briefings, and work with colleagues to ensure all 300+ volunteers are supported and well looked after.
You’ll coach colleagues, embed best practice, and ensure systems and data are well managed. You’ll work to remove barriers to access, making sure underserved voices are heard and involved.
Using insight and relationships, you’ll help shape strategic decisions and test new approaches to participation — connecting people with places and creating lasting public benefit.
You’ll also be part of the duty management team, responsible for opening and closing the park, operational safety and security, and acting as a main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Understanding of and experience in good practice in volunteer management
- Understanding of and experience in community engagement and collaborative working
- Proven experience developing and implementing new approaches to volunteering
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Self‑directed and able to manage responsibilities independently
- Ability to coach and support those managing, supervising or working alongside volunteers and community partners
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking
