Greystoke Surgery is a long-established NHS GP practice in Morpeth, Northumberland, proudly serving the local community since 1925. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a friendly and supportive environment.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and an experienced administration team, all working together to provide excellent care. As a recognised training practice, we are passionate about developing future healthcare professionals and offer apprentices the opportunity to gain valuable skills within a busy NHS setting.

The Medical Receptionist Apprentice will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a friendly and professional service both in person and over the telephone. You'll support the day-to-day running of the practice while developing valuable administration, communication and customer service skills.

Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries.
Book, amend and cancel appointments using the clinical system.
Process requests for home visits in line with practice procedures.
Register new patients and update patient records.
Scan, upload and file patient correspondence.
Process incoming and outgoing post.
Respond to administrative tasks from clinicians and colleagues.
Collect payments for non-NHS services where required.
Maintain accurate records using the practice computer system.
Help keep the reception, waiting area and consulting rooms organised and well stocked.
Provide general administrative support to the wider practice team.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Office Manager.

Training Provided

Full in-house training and support from the practice team.
Mandatory NHS training via Bluestream.
SystmOne clinical system training.
Ongoing coaching throughout your apprenticeship.
Support to achieve your apprenticeship qualification.

Pay: £15,600.00 per year
