We are looking to hire an Operations Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading two core areas; the team that installs and commissions systems globally, and the team that builds, procures, calibrates, and ships equipment, holding responsibility for the facilities that support this.
The role focuses on control, alignment, and performance, ensuring projects deliver on time and equipment is ready when needed. You will act as the link between engineering, production, project delivery, and external logistics support, removing gaps between these functions and drive a single way of working.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
Accountability
End to end delivery, from system build through to commissioning and handover
Operational readiness for all projects, including materials, documentation, and people
Performance of production, supply chain, and I&C delivery teams
Project delivery outcomes in line with agreed plans and commitments
Clear ownership of processes, standards, and execution methods
Facilities used to support build, calibration, and mobilisation
Delivery Oversight
Oversee all installation and commissioning activity across projects
Ensure delivery plans are realistic, resourced, and aligned with build readiness
Hold project managers and technical leads accountable for delivery performance
Manage risk, changes, and delivery issues at a portfolio level
Ensure a consistent approach to project execution across all regions
Operations & Production
Oversee production planning and system build in line with project schedules
Ensure procurement and warehouse activities support delivery timelines
Maintain visibility of equipment status from build through to mobilisation
Ensure calibration activities are completed and aligned to delivery requirements
Drive standardisation across systems to reduce build time and improve repeatability
Supply Chain
Ensure material availability aligns with project demand
Set expectations with suppliers and monitor performance
Resolve risks tied to parts availability or vendor performance
Facilities
Own operational facilities supporting build, calibration, and mobilisation
Ensure facilities are fit for purpose, organised, and support efficient workflows
Maintain safe working environments and compliance standards
People and Team Leadership
Lead cross functional teams across production, supply chain, and I&C delivery
Set clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines Build capability within teams and address gaps quickly
Drive a culture focused on ownership, delivery, and continuous improvement
Process & Performance
Define and enforce standard processes across build, calibration, and delivery
Apply the “act on performance” framework to drive accountability and improvement
Use data to identify issues and drive corrective actions
Maintain lessons learned and ensure improvements are applied
Commercial Alignment
Work with Head of Projects and commercial teams to support delivery planning and commitments
Support invoicing readiness by ensuring delivery milestones are clear and achieved
Flag risks to delivery early so commercial impact can be managed
Stakeholder Management
Work closely with engineering, sales, finance, and supply chain teams
Engage with clients at key delivery stages where needed
Ensure communication flows clearly across all functions
Required
Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field
Project management qualification preferred
Strong background in operations, project delivery, or engineering environments
Experience leading both project delivery and internal operations teams
Understanding of installation and commissioning activities
Experience managing production and supply chain functions
Proven track record improving processes and driving performance
Strong commercial awareness and delivery ownership
Ability to manage multiple teams and priorities
