Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Production Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heavy plant equipment. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, technical drawing interpretation, and a willingness to travel internationally to support projects on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Support the mechanical installation, set-up, and maintenance of industrial equipment both in-house and on-site (including machine enclosures, robotic systems, welding equipment, and WAAM systems), with flexibility to travel to global locations as required.
Interpret and work from technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation
Carry out mechanical servicing, repair, maintenance, and equipment replacement to ensure optimal performance.
Apply practical mechanical fitting skills, including the use of hand tools and powered equipment, as well as safe mechanical handling, lifting, and slinging techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient project execution and timelines
Perform on-site troubleshooting and support during installation and commissioning phases.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
Maintain professional and technical knowledge, ensuring confidentiality and security of company information.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or contractors
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and computer literacy skills.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in mechanical installation of heavy plant or industrial equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Willingness and ability to travel internationally for project work
Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on technical ability

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of welding techniques and processes
Basic electrical knowledge or experience in industrial environments
Experience working on international project sites
