Full job description

Job Overview

As a Sales Executive at our Vauxhall dealership in Merthyr Tydfil, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while driving new and used vehicle sales. You will engage with customers both in the showroom and through digital enquiries, identify their individual requirements, present suitable vehicle and finance options, and manage the sales process through to handover. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, a customer-first approach, and the ability to achieve sales targets while building long-term customer relationships.

Company car for private use
31 days paid holiday (including bank holidays), rising by 1 day after every 5 years of service
Up to £22,500 basic salary with an on-target earnings (OTE) of £40,500 per annum

Who You Are

Have at least 3 years' experience in a customer-facing retail role
Previous automotive sales, retail sales or call centre experience is preferred
Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service with a charismatic personality and strong emotional intelligence
Demonstrate excellent active listening skills to understand customers' wants, needs and requirements
Have a proven track record of achieving sales targets
Be able to analyse situations, identify potential challenges and provide effective solutions

As a Sales Executive

You will have excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and deliver outstanding customer experiences
You will be self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a target-driven environment
You will be able to prioritise tasks and manage your time effectively

Main Duties

Greet customers and guide them through the vehicle buying process
Understand customer needs and recommend suitable vehicles
Provide detailed information on vehicle features, specifications, pricing and finance options
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for new and used vehicles
Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers through proactive follow-ups and networking
Stay up to date with the latest Vauxhall models, features and industry trends
Conduct vehicle demonstrations and accompany customers on test drives
Follow up with customers after purchase to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals
Work closely with colleagues across the dealership, including finance, service and management teams, to ensure a seamless customer experience
Complete all required paperwork, including sales agreements, finance applications and vehicle registrations
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies

Working Hours

42.5 hours per week, worked across 5.5 days, with one weekday off each week, working every Saturday and alternate Sundays.
