Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Smoked Meat Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on smoked meats. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft flavourful dishes in a dynamic kitchen environment, delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting smoked meat dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare and cook smoked meats according to established recipes and quality standards
Oversee the entire process of meat smoking, including marinating, seasoning, and monitoring smoking times and temperatures
Assist in meal preparation for various menu items, ensuring consistency and presentation quality
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new smoked meat recipes and menu offerings
Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during preparation and service
Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Monitor stock levels of ingredients related to smoked meat preparation and notify management of shortages

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or similar environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous experience working with smoked meats or barbecue is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
Experience in serving guests or customers is advantageous
A passion for culinary arts and a keen interest in developing specialised smoked meat dishes
