Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Guest House House Keeper/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and organisation of our guest accommodation. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for cleanliness. The successful candidate will contribute to providing a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests, ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation are consistently met.

Duties

Clean and sanitise guest rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to the highest standards
Change bed linen, make beds, and replenish amenities such as towels and toiletries
Ensure all surfaces are dust-free, floors are vacuumed or mopped, and waste is disposed of appropriately
Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning to management
Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are stored safely and used efficiently
Assist with laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linen and towels
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and guests

Requirements

Previous experience in hotel or hospitality cleaning roles is preferred but not essential
Proven janitorial experience demonstrating attention to detail and thoroughness
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently within allocated timeframes
A friendly attitude with excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends if required
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding guest information and hotel operations
