Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership abilities and a passion for culinary excellence to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment. The Sous Chef will play a vital role in supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and supporting the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
Coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow during service periods.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
Support staff in serving customers when necessary, ensuring excellent hospitality service.
Ensure all dishes are prepared efficiently and meet quality standards before presentation or serving.

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during busy service times.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business needs.
