As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced, dynamic and strategic-minded Operations Coordinator to assist with Operations at our Industrial Cleaning Services department based at Port Talbot.
Reporting to the Industrial Cleaning Services Contract Manager, the Operations Coordinator will assume responsibilities for decision making, people management & development, Safety Planning, Coordination and successful execution of jobs (Projects) with regular customer engagement and review, asset and maintenance organisation, equipment and vehicle care, KPI and compliance reporting whilst always seeking to improve standards.
All of the above will take place in a dynamic and fast paced customer service driven environment, where safety, self-autonomy, team responsibility and compliance are key. We are a small team that exceed expectations, with all of our KPI’s in the right direction and improving constantly. We are looking to on board a new Coordinator who can bring in new ideas to amplify our results.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Team Leaders, Internal and external (CPC) Class 2 Drivers as well as Labourers.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in being a self-starter, responsible for making things happen, Operations Supervision, within a heavy industrial cleaning environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and driving business excellence.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise, report and assist the Contracts Manager on day-to-day operations of the Industrial Services department based at Tata Steel Port Talbot with additional requirements at other Client locations such as Sheffield, Scunthorpe, Hartlepool and local Heavy Industry environments in Cardiff, Llanelli & Newport.
· Lead multiple small teams deployed across the sites each with their own specific skill set and customer demand. This will include scheduling, recruitment and absence management.
· Cost control responsibilities such as timely hiring and off hiring of required equipment, PPE spend control initiatives & overtime spend management.
· Prioritise compliance with health and safety regulations, company and customer policies to ensure the safety of the team. Accurate scoping of incoming jobs to provide the team with safe working procedures and auditing jobs to guarantee compliance.
· Train, Develop and mentor Team Leaders and Operators alike, fostering a positive culture of openness, flexibility, accountability and continuous improvement.
· Equipment loss and damage reduction initiatives, minimising unnecessary spend by positively driving accountability.
· Cultivate strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to enhance customer trust, satisfaction and support business objectives.
· Develop and implement strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Requirements:
· Proven experience in operations Supervision/Coordination, specifically within heavy industry and the industrial cleaning services sector is advantageous.
· Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and build relationships with customers alike is essential.
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations, best practices and Water Jetting Association standards is beneficial.
· Be standards focussed, with a proven background in improving welfare, vehicle and asset cleanliness and standardisation is essential.
· Knowledge of OLAT or Company Operators licencing, working and Tacho time directives as well as good vehicle practice for accessing public highways for commercial vehicles would be advantageous.
· Prior vehicle fleet management would be beneficial. MOT’s, DVLA Driver licencing checks, defect report and resolution would be beneficial.
· Previously trained and demonstratable experience in a minimum of IOSH Managing Safely is essential.
· Having worked priorly as a contract services provider to a National/Global customer would be advantageous.
· Compliance driven, understand compliance submissions on time such as HAVS Monitoring, Pre-use inspections, audits & Toolbox talk completions before due date.
· Good knowledge of industrial vacuum mobile Units and industrial jetting equipment would be advantageous.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
· Be comfortable making decisions within a fast paced, dynamic and customer facing environment.
