Full job description

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the day-to-day finance function.

This role would suit someone with solid bookkeeping or finance administration experience who enjoys working as part of a collaborative finance team, while also being confident managing their own responsibilities independently.

You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring supplier reconciliations and banking activities are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Completing bank reconciliations
Raising sales invoices where required
Processing employee expenses
Assisting with VAT returns
Posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
Supporting month-end close processes
Assisting with payroll administration where required
Processing intercompany transactions
Maintaining accurate filing and financial records
Providing support during audits
General finance administration and bookkeeping duties as required

About You

Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role, either in-house or within practice
Confident daily user of Xero (essential)
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
AAT qualification desirable, although qualified by experience will also be considered
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Takes pride in maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records
Professional, reliable, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
