Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Day Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while leading a team of childcare professionals. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care and education, fostering positive relationships with parents and staff, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and programme planning.
Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education.
Develop and implement educational programmes that promote children's development across all areas.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with legal requirements and best practice standards.
Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and Ofsted standards.
Organise staff training sessions to promote continuous professional development.
Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting to senior management or governing bodies.
Foster a welcoming environment that encourages positive behaviour and social development among children.

Experience

Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team of childcare professionals.
Extensive working knowledge of childcare practices, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g., Ofsted regulations).
Experience working directly with children across various age groups in a nursery environment.
Qualifications in early childhood education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives while leading a passionate team dedicated to providing exceptional care and education.
