Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to start in July.

This role requires you to oversee the cleanliness of our 5 star luxury narrow boat company, based on the Mon & Brec canal.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in housekeeping, with a keen work ethic for detail and maintaining excellence. This role is vital in ensuring our guests enjoy a comfortable, spotless environment that reflects our commitment to high standards.

Duties

21 hours a week, working Monday, Friday and Saturday, from 8am until 3pm during the holiday season. Extra hours out of season to be discussed.
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
Develop cleaning schedules and allocate tasks to team members, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards.
Conduct inspections of boats on guest return and prior to departure.
Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained and equipment is properly maintained.
Collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs and resolve any issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with hygiene standards, to protect staff and guests alike.

Qualifications

Proven experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Knowledge of the industry standards and best practices for cleanliness and safety.
Experience with inventory management.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional approach to guest service.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in management or health & safety are desirable but not essential. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our Canal Boat reputation by maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards while leading a dedicated team of housekeeping professionals.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
