Job Description:
Lead Content Designer
Manchester M50 3SP or London EC2R 7HJ
Hybrid - min 2 days per week in the office
Permanent
Full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary circa £55300 - £69100 depending on experience + bonus
You're an expert practitioner and leader who drives content strategy and delivery across complex, customer-facing products.
You'll lead a team of content designers (including line management of up to 4 senior designers), shaping both the quality of the work and the capability of the discipline. Alongside hands-on design, you'll coach and develop your team, setting a high bar for craft, clarity and impact.
Working across Health Services, you'll operate flexibly across key products and journeys. You'll partner closely with the Design Principal to manage content design resourcing, ensuring the right skills are applied to the highest-value problems.
You'll work with a high degree of autonomy, acting as a strategic partner to Heads of Product, Product Managers, and clinical and business stakeholders - shaping direction, influencing decisions, and putting content at the heart of better health experiences.
You'll champion a modern approach to content design, embedding research and experimentation, strengthening systems and standards, and advocating for the use of AI tools to improve how we design and deliver content.
You'll ensure content aligns to strategy and user needs, while actively promoting content design across Bupa and the wider design community.
Example areas of work: My Bupa app, bupa.co.uk, corporate portal, and Cromwell Hospital digital experience.
