The Role
We are looking for an experienced, flexible and hands-on Venue Manager to lead Nobles by Bellfield.
The successful candidate will be responsible for running Nobles as a distinct venue within the wider Bellfield Brewery business. This includes leading the team, maintaining high standards, delivering excellent service, supporting a high-quality seasonal food offer, championing Bellfield beers and helping to grow the venue through events, tastings, private hire, partnerships and creative revenue opportunities.
The Venue Manager will work closely with the wider Bellfield team, including the brewery, taproom, kitchen, events and marketing teams, to connect Nobles with the wider Bellfield story and make the most of opportunities across the business.
This role requires someone practical, adaptable and willing to get stuck in. The right person will be comfortable leading from the floor, supporting the team during busy service, solving problems quickly and doing what is needed to keep the venue running well.
Key ResponsibilitiesVenue Leadership and Team
- Lead the day-to-day operation of Nobles by Bellfield.
- Set and maintain high standards across service, presentation, atmosphere and customer experience.
- Be a visible, hands-on presence in the venue.
- Build a positive, motivated and professional front-of-house team.
- Recruit, train, develop and retain great people.
- Manage rotas, staffing levels and labour costs effectively.
- Create a culture where the team takes pride in the venue and the customer experience.
- Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
Customer Experience
- Ensure every guest receives a warm, confident and memorable welcome.
- Build Nobles’ reputation as a standout pub for food, beer and hospitality.
- Develop regular trade and local loyalty.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and constructively.
- Make sure the venue feels inviting, well-run and full of character.
Food and Drink
- Work closely with the kitchen team to support a high-quality seasonal food offer.
- Ensure food service is delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Champion Bellfield Brewery beers and help the team tell the story behind them.
- Maintain excellent bar standards, including beer quality, cellar management and product knowledge.
- Support drinks range planning, seasonal activity and food, beer and wine pairing opportunities.
Revenue Growth, Events and Business Development
A key part of this role will be developing ideas to maximise revenue and strengthen Nobles as part of the wider Bellfield Brewery business.
This will include:
- developing events, tastings, beer-and-food pairings, launches and seasonal promotions;
- creating reasons for customers to visit throughout the week, not just at peak trading times;
- working with the wider Bellfield team to deliver events, collaborations and special occasions;
- building links between Nobles, the Bellfield Taproom and the brewery where appropriate;
- developing private hire, group bookings, corporate packages and celebration packages;
- identifying local partnerships and promotional opportunities;
- using sales data, customer insight and trading patterns to suggest ways to grow revenue;
- helping Nobles become both a brilliant local pub and a destination venue.
We are looking for someone who brings ideas, energy and commercial awareness - someone who can spot opportunities and help make them happen.
Commercial and Operational Management
- Take responsibility for sales, profitability and controllable costs.
- Manage stock, ordering, wastage and margins.
- Monitor weekly performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure opening, closing and security procedures are followed consistently.
- Maintain compliance with licensing, health and safety, food safety and employment requirements.
- Keep the venue clean, safe, organised and well-presented.
- Take a proactive approach to resolving day-to-day operational issues.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with:
- strong front-of-house leadership skills;
- a genuine passion for food, beer and hospitality;
- commercial confidence and experience managing sales, costs, stock and rotas;
- experience developing events, promotions or private hire opportunities;
- excellent communication and people skills;
- high standards and strong attention to detail;
- a flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the floor;
- the ability to stay calm, practical and positive under pressure;
- an understanding of how to build atmosphere, regular trade and local loyalty;
- personal licence holder status, or willingness to obtain one.
Experience in a food-led pub, independent venue, brewery-owned bar, taproom or premium casual hospitality setting would be especially useful.
The Person
You will be warm, confident and professional, with high standards, commercial awareness and a genuine love of hospitality.
You will be organised, calm and practical, with the flexibility to get stuck in where needed. You will be full of ideas, able to turn them into action, and comfortable working with the wider Bellfield team across brewery, taproom, kitchen, events and marketing.
