Location: Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Duration: 9 Months Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

What you’ll do

This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative. You’ll join a team helping to shape the UK’s largest mobile network provider—playing a key role in building not just a business, but a future-ready culture, customer experience, and industry standard. In this 9-month fixed-term role, you’ll work at the heart of strategic initiatives, supporting legal compliance while collaborating with diverse teams across the organisation.

You’ll support the delivery of high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across strategic projects, procurement, wholesale, and emerging AI initiatives
You’ll help ensure compliance with evolving legislation while safeguarding commercial objectives and managing legal risk
You’ll build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, aligning legal guidance with business priorities and enabling confident decision-making
You’ll contribute to risk assessment and assurance frameworks, proactively identifying and mitigating regulatory, financial, and reputational risks
You’ll support governance and continuous improvement by refining legal templates, processes, and training materials
You’ll help drive efficiency by contributing to legal innovation, including automation, simplification, and the use of legal technology
You’ll collaborate with external partners such as suppliers, legal counsel, and commercial stakeholders to support strategic outcomes
You’ll stay curious keeping up with regulatory changes and sharing insights that help the wider team grow and improve

Who you are

You have experience working in an in-house legal team or within commercial contracting in private practice
You bring (or are keen to develop) strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal risk with business opportunity
You’re confident taking ownership of your work and managing your own caseload, with appropriate guidance where needed
You’re proactive and self-motivated, with a “can-do” mindset and the ability to move things forward independently
You have an interest in the technology or telecoms sector, with awareness of relevant legal and industry trends
You can build trusted relationships and communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders
You use analytical thinking to solve problems and deliver practical, solution-oriented outcomes
You’re collaborative, inclusive, and enjoy working as part of a diverse, high-performing team
You’re eager to learn and grow, open to feedback, and motivated to continuously develop your skills
