Full job description

Our Low Fell practice is looking for a motivated and capable Assistant Practice Manager to support the Practice Manager in delivering high‑quality patient care and maintaining efficient, compliant operations. This is a hands‑on role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to support both clinical and administrative teams. You will be given 5 weeks paid holiday per year either fulltime/part time.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily management of the practice and workflow
Support staff supervision, rota management, and performance reviews
Ensure staff follow sickness reporting rules (including calling management before 7am)
Handle patient enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally
Oversee reception operations and ensure excellent customer service
Support HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and training
Maintain compliance with CQC, GDC, HTM 01-05, and internal policies
Assist with audits, documentation, and quality assurance
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
Support financial administration including payments, membership plans, and reporting
Step in for the Practice Manager when required

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in dental or healthcare administration
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent organisational and multitasking ability
Confident with dental software and Microsoft Office
A proactive, reliable, and professional approach
Ability to work well under pressure and support a busy team
Flexibility to work across both practices when required
