We are looking for an experienced Overhead Crane Driver with C-Hook experience to join our steel stockholding operation.
The successful candidate must have experience handling steel coil and must hold a current overhead crane licence/certificate.
Approximate weekly pay before bonus: £748.63
Based on the current working pattern of 40 basic hours plus approximately 11 overtime hours per week.
Pay and Benefits
- Basic hourly rate: £13.25 per hour
- First 40 hours paid at basic rate
- Overtime paid at time and a half — £19.88 per hour
- Current working pattern provides approximately 11 hours overtime per week

- Two paid 30-minute breaks per day

Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 4:30pm
- Friday: 6:00am to 3:00pm
- Expected paid hours: 51 hours per week
- Two paid 30-minute breaks daily
Main Duties
- Operating an overhead gantry crane using a C-Hook
- Safely lifting, moving, loading and unloading steel coil
- Keeping two decoiling machines loaded with coil
- Handling coil in line with safe systems of work
- Carrying out daily crane checks
- Ensuring coil is stored safely and correctly
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe
- Working closely with warehouse, production and transport teams
- Following all site health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Current overhead crane licence/certificate
- Previous C-Hook experience is essential
- Experience working with steel coil
- Good awareness of health and safety
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Confident working in a busy steel warehouse environment
