Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Chef to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Lead Chef, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional eager to lead a talented team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained
Manage food production schedules to meet service times and minimise waste
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining operational feasibility
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health regulations

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
Familiarity with restaurant operations and serving procedures is advantageous
