An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Business Manager to join the NHS Shared Services - Procurement Services' Frontline Procurement Team for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board based at Woodland House, Maes-y-coed Road.

NWSSP - NHS Wales Procurement Shared Service is an established Procurement Service assisting the Health Boards and Trusts across Wales to deliver patient centred services. We are an award-winning service focusing on value, safety, excellence, innovation and quality. As a Procurement Service we have an obligation to provide stakeholders and customers with the best quality service, ensuring the right product, provision or service has been sourced and supplied efficiently and at the right price for all of Wales and our aim is to have seamless procurement processes in place that release clinical time to focus on patient care and develop a value based procurement approach based around patient outcomes.

We reserve the right to make this a development opportunity should none of the interviewees meet the minimum competency criteria for the interview and assessment methods.

This development opportunity would be based on annex 21 where the following criteria would apply.

Under Annex 21, trainees who are undertaking a short period of learning on the job, usually less than 12 months.

Pay Structure

For trainees covered by paragraph 2(iii), where periods of training last for between one and four years, pay will be adjusted as follows:

(i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;

(ii) more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate;

(iii) more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate;

(iv) more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.

On assimilation to the pay band following completion of training, the trainee should enter either on the first pay point of the appropriate pay band or the next pay point above their training salary.
