Full job description

Haffey Sports Grounds, based on the outskirts of Portadown is a leading contractor specialising in civil engineering, playgrounds and sports grounds projects.

We are currently seeking a charge hand to join our growing team.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations of various projects and site operatives.
Coordinate with subcontractors and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Supervise and direct construction activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and project specifications.
Provide guidance and support to construction crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
Monitor project progress, report any issues or delays and suggest solutions to overcome challenges.
Manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials and manpower, to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
Communication effectively with team members and clients to address concerns and maintain project alignment.
Coordinate the delivery and pickup of materials as needed for project operations.

Essential Criteria:

Civil Engineering or Sports Grounds charge hand experience
Valid Driving Licence
Valid CSR Card or CSCS card or other relevant qualification.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate construction crews.
Excellent communication skills
Have a willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.

Desirable Criteria:

Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction management or a related field.
Heavy machinery tickets.
