Full job description

Established in 1979, Freightroute Limited is one of the leading privately owned palletised transport organisations in the UK. Operating 11 sites across England and Scotland we strive to deliver excellence as standard.

£14.91 (£17.61 Overtime) or Non-ADR £13.55 (£16.53 Overtime)

ADR qualification preferred but not essential – fully funded training to upskill available

Monday to Friday 07.00-17.00 , Newton Abbott TQ12 6SQ

Main Responsibilities:

As the role requires complete flexibility with regards to the operation and accountabilities, responsibilities will include, but not limited to

To carry out deliveries and collections to and from a wide variety of customers within a certain mile radius of the depot. Routes are usually pre-planned the day before.
To comply with all drivers’ hours regulations and Road Transport Directive legislation.
To carry out all necessary checks to ensure the vehicle assigned is safe and legal and to follow appropriate Company procedures in respect of any defects identified.
To carry out all necessary checks on your load and maintain safety and security of your load at all times in accordance with Company safe working procedures.
Unloading of consignments using electric pallet truck and vehicle tail lift in accordance with Company Safe Working Procedures.
To comply with all loading and unloading procedures in force at your defined destinations.
To act as Company ambassador when dealing with customers
To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in the depot, on the road and at partners premises.
To plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to your home traffic office any issues regarding routing, traffic network delays or issues with unloading/loading encountered at destination points.
To operate all vehicle systems including digital tachographs
To complete all paperwork promptly and obtain confirmation of delivery using epod devices
To complete daily debrief and tacho updates at end of shift.
Any other driving or depot related duties assigned by your Depot General Manager.
