Full job description

Job Summary
Due to a healthy order book, we are seeking dedicated Groundworkers and Drainage Gangs on a self employed/umbrella or PAYE basis to join our construction team. This role involves working on various infrastructure projects, specialising in drainage installation, excavation, and site preparation. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with groundwork operations, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall progress of projects. Previous experience in drainage or groundworks is advantageous, along with a proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Assisting with excavation and site clearance using hand tools and power tools
Installing drainage systems in accordance with project specifications
Operating machinery such as excavators (training provided if necessary)
Using welding equipment to join pipes or repair structures as required
Handling and maintaining hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
Conducting basic electrical tasks related to drainage systems or site infrastructure
Ensuring all work areas are kept safe, clean, and organised
Supporting team members in completing tasks efficiently and safely on-site

Skills

Experience with excavators and other construction machinery
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in groundworks and drainage installation
Ability to work effectively within a team environment under supervision or independently when required
Strong organisational skills with attention to safety procedures and standards

Candidates should possess a proactive approach, good physical fitness, and the ability to adapt to varying site conditions. Previous experience in groundworks or drainage projects will be considered an advantage. Pay and benefits negotiable depending on skills and experience.

Pay: £160.00-£240.00 per day
