Front of House Team Member

Location: Hafan Yr Afon
Hours: 16 hours per week (including weekends and occasional evenings)
Rate of Pay: £12.93 per hour

About the Role

Hafan Yr Afon is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Front of House Team Member to join our café and events team.

This is a customer-facing role where you will help create a warm and welcoming experience for everyone who visits. Duties include serving food and drinks, operating the till, maintaining a clean and organised café environment, and supporting events and private functions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to all visitors
Take orders and process payments using the till system
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including barista-style coffees
Serve food and clear tables efficiently
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Restock supplies and monitor front of house areas
Support events, functions and evening activities when required
Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures

Essential Requirements

Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable and punctual
Able to work well as part of a team
Comfortable working in a busy environment
Flexible to work weekends and occasional evenings

Desirable

Previous experience in hospitality, cafés or customer service
Barista experience
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
Interest in community events, arts and culture
