Your Future: From Trainee to Lead Engineer We aren't just looking for an assistant; we are looking for our next lead Engineer. Upon successful completion of your training (typically within 12 to 18 months) you will progress to a Maintenance, Repairs, or Installation Engineer.
With this promotion comes a significant salary uplift, with earnings typically reaching £32,000–£35,000 (including overtime), alongside the pride of being a fully qualified specialist in the field.
The Day-to-Day Role
As a Trainee Engineer, you will be the right hand to our lead Engineers, responsible for:
- Technical Support: Assisting with on-site works to exceed customer expectations.
- Asset Management: Taking ownership of the company vehicle and tools, ensuring they are well-maintained and faults are reported promptly.
- Logistics: Managing van stock and collecting essential parts from suppliers to keep projects moving.
- Safety First: Operating strictly within Health and Safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
About You
You don’t need a wall full of certificates, but you do need the right mindset.
- An Inquisitive Mind: You naturally ask "why" and "how" and want to understand how systems work.
- A Proactive Learner: You take instruction well and look for the next task before being asked.
- A Customer Champion: You possess an excellent attitude toward client care.
- Commitment: A firm dedication to completing your training and development programme.
The Details
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, serving the East Anglia region.
- Location: Induction and initial 3 months based at our Head Office in Thetford.
- Salary: Starting at £28,080 (basic). With overtime, earnings typically reach £32,000+.
- Overtime: Paid at standard hourly rate during training, rising to enhanced rates once qualified.
- Requirements: A full UK driving licence is essential.
