About the role
As Head of Education, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the quality of education across designated College campuses, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, strong learner outcomes and positive progression into employment or further learning.
You will lead and shape a culture of high performance, inclusion and continuous improvement, supporting inspection readiness, internal quality assurance and Trust growth. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust and with external partners, you will help ensure that our provision remains responsive, innovative and aligned to learner and labour market needs.
As part of the role, the successful applicant will:
· Provide strategic leadership for the quality of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment across designated campuses
· Drive measurable improvements in learner achievement, retention, attendance, progression and destinations
· Contribute to the development and delivery of the Teaching and Learning Strategy
· Lead quality assurance and improvement activity, including internal audits and inspection readiness (e.g. Ofsted)
· Ensure effective use of digital learning systems and technology to enhance learner engagement and outcomes
· Use performance data and insight to inform decision‑making, planning and continuous improvement
· Develop strong employer, partner and stakeholder relationships to support progression and provision growth
· Lead, managing and developing staff through effective performance management, appraisal and CPD
· Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded across all areas of practice
· Hold budget responsibility and contributing to sustainable growth and resource planning
About you
We are looking for an experienced and values‑driven education leader with a strong track record of improving quality of education and learner outcomes.
You will have significant leadership experience within an education or training setting, with a deep understanding of teaching, learning and assessment, quality frameworks and inspection requirements. You will be confident using data to drive improvement, able to inspire and motivate teams, and skilled at working collaboratively across services and with external partners.
You will ideally bring:
· A degree (or equivalent) in education or a related discipline and a recognised teaching qualification
· Experience of leading quality improvement and inspection readiness
· Strong knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive practice, particularly for learners with SEND
· Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
· Experience of curriculum development, performance management and staff development
· Postgraduate or leadership qualifications, experience of multi‑site leadership, employer engagement or budget management would be advantageous.
