Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. This position offers an opportunity to lead by example, ensuring compassionate and personalised care within a supportive environment. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with care plans, supervising team members, and maintaining excellent communication with residents and their families.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment
Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and medication management
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any changes in residents’ conditions
Lead on the implementation of care procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
Support the organisation of activities and social engagement programmes for residents
Assist with administrative duties using IT systems to update records and care plans as required
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents at all times

Requirements

Previous experience working in a care home specialising in senior care or similar environment
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures
Good IT skills for record keeping and administrative tasks
Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing quality senior care
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate leadership qualities

Pay: £14.10-£14.60 per hour
