Full job description

Are you approachable, organised, and eager to learn a rewarding new skill? We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Optical Assistant to join our reputable practice.

In this role, you’ll work alongside our close-knit team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants to deliver exceptional care to our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable healthcare and technical experience in a supportive, friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care: Provide exceptional customer service, guiding patients through their eye care journey and making them feel welcome.
Pre-Screening: Perform initial checks prior to a client’s sight test using our modern pre-test optical equipment.
Frame Styling & Repairs: Assist clients with frame selection, fittings, adjustments, and minor repairs.
Lab Work (Training Provided): Learn the ins and outs of our optical laboratory, assisting with lens edging, assembly, and quality control.
Administration: Manage patient records accurately and efficiently, and support the team with monthly stock takes.
Practice Care: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for our patients.
Flexibility: Willingness to occasionally cover at our other local branches in Pontefract and Wakefield when required.

What We Are Looking For

No optical experience? No problem! We provide full training for the right candidate.
Previous experience in customer service, retail, administration, or a healthcare setting is a plus, but not mandatory.
A friendly, approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn new skills.
