Job Purpose

Reporting to the Legal and Compliance Director this position involves working closely with all managers of the business and external stakeholders to develop, maintain and enhance the overall quality and compliance framework of The Barcode Warehouse.

You will maintain our current accreditations by carrying out all internal audits, whilst supporting with the implementation and management of new accreditations such as ISO14001 and enhancing the management of compliance of our internal H&S systems.

Main responsibilities

Ongoing maintenance, development & monitoring of compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with regulatory requirements and industry standards including ISO9001, ISO 27001, ISO14001 and Health & Safety, ensuring maintenance of company accreditations.
Developing and implementing a suitable and sustainable Environmental Management System within the business.
Develop and execute internal audit programmes across all departments; produce and maintain audit reports, corrective actions, and improvement plans required across all sectors including identifying non-conformances, observations, and opportunities for improvement. Provide support where necessary to ensure actions are completed with a view to ensuring compliance with relevant ISO and Health & Safety accreditations.
Arrange and Lead during external NQA and H&S Audits, including follow up and action plan any recommendations found with our Managers.
Keep up to date with incoming regulatory legislation which shall impact the business and work with stakeholders throughout the business to implement processes and policies to ensure compliance with such new legislation
Development of new processes and policies within relevant areas of the business to ensure compliance with existing regulations and good practice.
Oversee DSE assessments, fire safety, first aid provision, and contractor compliance throughout the business.
Assisting other stakeholders in ensuring services undertaken outside of TBW premises is supported by suitable risk assessments and method statements and are undertaken in accordance with the same and relevant health and safety legislation
Assist with bid writing from a business risk, compliance, security, safety and environmental perspective.
Reviewing of customer own documentation and assistance with provision of information required by customers during regular compliance checks and onboarding procedures and completion of documentation to assist in the same.
Monitor and report on ongoing compliance activities such as Packaging waste, environmental impacts and assist in delivering internal training plans.
Support vendor risk management and due diligence processes.
Assist in the business’ risk management processes and support regular risk management reviews and meetings
Chair Health & Safety committee meetings and support Management Review meetings for QMS and ISMS.
Drive positive behaviours and culture within the business by promoting best practice and delivering continuous improvement.
Monitoring online training platform, ensuring training record compliance and working with appointed admins for each area to plan and structure training needs.
Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of policies, standards and the relevance to business objectives.

Essential Experience

Knowledge and understanding of current legislative regulations relating to Quality, Information Security, GDPR and H&S.
Experience in a quality role, working under an ISO 9001 Quality Management system
Developing and delivering training courses.
Auditing qualification and auditing experience.
Implementing and maintaining ISO14001 accreditation, improving environmental performance and leading on the delivery of sustainable practices.
