Job Title: Assistant Psychologist
Location: Elijah Social Cognitive Skills Centre, 997 Finchley Road, NW11 7HB, North London
Hours: Monday – Friday
Pay: £15 per hour

About Us
The Elijah Social Cognitive Skills Centre (ESCSC) is a growing therapy centre dedicated to supporting young children with delayed developmental milestones. Under the direction of Dr Debora Elijah, our team of highly qualified specialists — including a Cognitive Neuropsychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Art and Communication Therapist, and Occupational Therapist — work collaboratively to help children develop essential social, cognitive, and independent play skills. Our goal is to prepare children for successful inclusion in mainstream education and reduce the need for special school placement.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual with a BSc in Psychology or a closely related field to join our early intervention programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a school-like setting, delivering engaging, targeted support to children with varying needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support therapists in transitioning children between activities.
Assist in the delivery of programme goals during each session.
Work directly with children to aid them in their exercises and activities.
Track and record progress for each child at the end of each class.
Support children’s overall wellbeing during sessions.
Maintain confidentiality regarding all child-related information.
Replenish and organise activity materials after each session.
Develop activities and plans tailored to each child’s needs.

Requirements

BSc in Psychology or closely related discipline (essential).
Enhanced DBS check and knowledge of safeguarding practices (essential).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children.
Organised, proactive, and adaptable to a dynamic environment.
Previous experience working with children with developmental delays is desirable but not essential — training will be provided.
