Paint Protection Film Installer Position at Muffwash

Join our fast-growing business as a Paint Protection Film Installer and be part of an exciting team. This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise preparation and installation of paint protection film on a range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. The role requires excellent attention to detail, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to uphold and promote the professional image and reputation of Muffwash.

Location: SK9 3HW

Type: Full time - Mon to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Salary: £35,000 per annum

MuffWash is one of the leading paint protection specialists in the Gtechniq network of accredited detailers for the automotive industry, working with luxury dealerships including Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, and many more. We offer services at our HQ in Wilmslow for our customers, and we offer a mobile service for dealerships all over the UK.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare vehicles for Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation, ensuring all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, decontaminated and free from defects.
Accurately measure, cut and install PPF to a high standard using pre-cut templates and bulk installation methods where required.
Install PPF on a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans and luxury or high-performance vehicles.
Ensure all film installations are completed with precision, including correct alignment, edge wrapping and finishing.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
Safely remove and replace vehicle trims, badges and components where necessary to facilitate installation.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.
Properly use and maintain all tools, equipment and materials associated with PPF installation.
Identify and rectify installation issues such as contamination, lifting edges, creases or imperfections.
Communicate effectively with management and colleagues regarding job progress and any issues encountered.
Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and manufacturer installation guidelines.
Assist with other vehicle enhancement services, such as vinyl wrapping, ceramic coatings, where required.
Represent the company professionally and deliver exceptional customer service.

Day to day responsibilities:

Review daily job schedules and prepare vehicles for installation.
Wash, decontaminate and carry out final panel preparation before applying film.
Select and prepare the appropriate film templates and materials for each vehicle.
Apply Paint Protection Film to vehicle panels, ensuring a flawless finish.
Use heat guns, squeegees and specialist tools to complete installations efficiently and accurately.
Conduct quality control inspections during and after installation.
Correct minor installation defects and ensure all edges and finishes meet company standards.
Maintain stock levels of tools and consumables and report shortages when necessary.
Keep the workshop clean, tidy and organised throughout the working day.
Support the team with additional workshop duties as reasonably required by the business.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installer who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of three (3) years' proven experience in Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation.
Experience installing PPF on a range of vehicles, including prestige, luxury and high-performance vehicles.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to achieving a flawless finish.
Strong knowledge of vehicle preparation, decontamination and paint-safe working practices.
Experience using pre-cut templates and bulk installation techniques.
The ability to identify and rectify installation issues, including contamination, lifting edges and imperfections.
The ability to work independently, use initiative and manage workloads effectively, while also contributing positively as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
A professional, customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop further skills.
The ability to maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Reliability, honesty and integrity, with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality workmanship and taking pride in your work.
A friendly, polite and enthusiastic manner, with a commitment to delivering a premium service to customers.
Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
Experience in related services such as vehicle wrapping, ceramic coating or window tinting would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence with no penalty points and no unspent driving convictions.
