Scarborough Hill Country Inn is a family owned period boutique property situated on the outskirts of North Walsham close to the Norfolk Broads. It has 8 beautiful bedrooms and two cottages. It prides itself on delivering warm, relaxed ,personal and professional service. It has recently undergone a massive refurbishment program and has relaunched its lovely restaurant and bar. Its cuisine is traditional English with inspirational, contemporary and international twists. We offer relaxed and amazing food prepared with the highest technical standards and imagination. The property is nestled within 9 acres of beautiful grounds, and we also provide the perfect setting for wedding receptions, parties, or a relaxing weekend getaway.

Summary

We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Scarborough Hill Country Inn. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in food preparation and production, ensuring that our guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences. Your contributions will be essential to maintaining our high standards of hospitality. We are looking for a visionary and enthusiastic person with a genuine passion and love of food and their role in hospitality. This is a major opportunity to be part of an exciting new project and opportunity.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and food preparation.
Prepare and present high-quality dishes in accordance with our menu standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training new team members.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership abilities to manage kitchen staff effectively.
Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Have vision and passion and an appreciation of todays culinary trends
