Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-School Leader to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role involves guiding a team of childcare professionals, developing engaging activities, and ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained. The Pre-School Leader will play a vital role in supporting children's development and creating a positive atmosphere for both children and staff.

Qualifications

Minimum QCF level 5 Diploma in Child Care in Learning and Development or higher.

Experience

Lead and manage the pre-school team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of educational programmes
Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding children's progress and centre activities
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and childcare standards
Oversee daily operations, including attendance, behaviour management, and resource management
Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and other administrative duties
Drive organisational initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided by the centre

Experience

Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
Extensive working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare sectors
Strong understanding of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards
Experience in developing educational programmes tailored to young children’s needs
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting materials or attending external meetings or events
