About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sewage Pump & Treatment Plant Service Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of sewage pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, control panels, and associated electrical and mechanical equipment. These tasks are at customers' site across the country.

This is a field-based role requiring a practical engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and repair sewage pumping stations and wastewater treatment systems.
Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults on pumps, motors, control panels, and associated equipment.
Install new pumping systems, treatment plants, and control equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency breakdown callouts.
Test and inspect electrical systems, including control panels, floats, sensors, and alarms.
Perform pump removals, replacements, and overhauls.
Complete site reports, service records, and risk assessments accurately.
Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and office staff and managing the servicing diary / schedule.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience working with sewage pumps, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or related water industry equipment.
Strong electrical fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills.
Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
Experience with motors, pumps, control panels, float switches, level controls, and telemetry systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Full UK driving licence.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.
Confined Space Entry certification.
