RECRUITMENT ADVERT: OPERATIONS MANAGER

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced Restaurant Manager, Deputy General Manager, Hospitality Manager, or Events Manager looking to take the next step in your career?

Crowcombe Court is seeking an ambitious and driven Operations Manager to join our leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience managing people and operations and is looking to broaden their skills and progress into senior venue management.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will play a key role in the successful operation of one of the South West's most prestigious wedding and events venues. You will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of venue management, including team leadership, recruitment, training, compliance, guest experience, stock control, and operational performance.

This role offers significant responsibility and autonomy, making it ideal for someone who is ready to develop their leadership skills and build a long-term career in hospitality and venue management.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

· Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within hospitality, events, leisure, retail, or a similar customer-focused environment.

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support teams.

· Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong administrative and computer skills with a keen eye for detail.

· A proactive and hands-on approach to managing daily operations.

· Full right to work in the UK.

· Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport.

· Ability to successfully complete a DBS/background check.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the venue and act on behalf of the General Manager when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Supporting the smooth delivery of weddings, events, and venue operations.

· Leading, developing, and motivating venue staff.

· Managing recruitment, onboarding, inductions, and training.

· Conducting performance reviews and supporting employee development.

· Managing staff rotas, holidays, and workforce planning.

· Supporting disciplinary, grievance, and HR processes when required.

· Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, COSHH, GDPR, and all relevant legislation.

· Managing stock control, supplier relationships, and venue purchasing.

· Overseeing till systems, cash handling, and operational reporting.

· Handling guest enquiries, resolving issues, and delivering exceptional customer service.

· Reviewing and improving operational procedures to maximise efficiency and guest satisfaction.

· Supporting the General Manager in achieving venue objectives and maintaining high operational standards.

This role would particularly suit an ambitious Restaurant Manager, Deputy General Manager, or Hospitality Manager seeking broader operational responsibility and a pathway into senior venue leadership.
