Repair Manager
Role Overview
Acumen is seeking an experienced and process-driven Repair Manager to oversee the operational management, governance, and performance of repairs delivered through our contractor network. This role focuses on ensuring repair processes operate efficiently, compliantly, and consistently across the business.
The Repair Manager will oversee higher-risk and more complex repair matters, contractor governance, audit readiness, compliance management, and continuous improvement activity. The role acts as a key operational link between contractors, surveyors, claims teams, and management to ensure repairs are delivered to the required technical, compliance, and customer standards.
This is not a people management role but requires strong operational oversight, contractor management, and process ownership capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational delivery of repairs across the contractor network
- Monitor repair performance, service levels, delays, variations, and customer outcomes
- Support the resolution of complex, high-risk, or escalated repair matters
- Ensure repairs align with approved scopes, authorised costs, and operational standards
- Review and oversee variation approvals and final account validation
- Support contractor performance management and service consistency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and operational stakeholders
- Support capacity planning and identification of contractor coverage gaps
- Lead contractor onboarding and due diligence processes including:
- Insurance verification
- Accreditation checks
- Compliance reviews
- Supplier governance checks
- Oversee contractor compliance documentation and governance requirements
- Review and manage compliance documentation including:
- RAMS
- PCI documentation
- Construction Phase Plans
- Insurance documentation
- Health & Safety files
- Ensure compliance with CDM requirements for works completed under Acumen’s BRN
- Lead contractor audit activity and quality assurance reviews
- Ensure contractor records and documentation remain audit-ready at all times
- Identify operational, compliance, or governance risks and implement corrective actions where required
- Monitor contractor performance, quality, responsiveness, and fulfilment standards
- Support process improvement initiatives across repairs and contractor governance
- Assist with operational reporting, audit preparation, and governance reviews
- Provide technical and operational guidance to Repair Coordinators where required
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience within property repairs, insurance claims, contractor management, facilities management, or a similar operational environment
- Strong understanding of repair processes and contractor governance
- Experience managing operational workflows and compliance processes
- Experience reviewing contractor documentation and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to identify operational risks and drive process improvements
- Strong attention to detail and governance awareness
Desirable
- Experience within insurance claims or loss adjusting
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and contractor compliance requirements
- Experience undertaking contractor audits or quality assurance reviews
- Understanding of reinstatement, restoration, or building repair works
- Previous experience using Apex or similar claims management systems

Salary & Benefits
£28,000 to £34,000 depending on experience
