Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaning Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment within school premises. This role is vital in ensuring that the school remains a welcoming and healthy space for students, staff, and visitors. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers paid employment and an opportunity to contribute positively to the educational community.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to high standards of hygiene
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated areas regularly
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure bins are emptied frequently
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel
Follow cleaning schedules and procedures accurately to ensure all areas are maintained consistently
Maintain a professional attitude while working independently or as part of a team

Qualifications

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not mandatory
Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and reliability
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Awareness of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures
Willingness to undertake training on cleaning techniques and safety protocols
