About Us
Park Lodge Project is a registered charity providing Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation for young people aged 16–25. Our services promote safety, stability, independence, and positive outcomes in line with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023.
We are looking for dedicated Sessional Support & Duty Workers to join our staff. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our young people are supported, safe, and appropriately supervised at all times.
The Role
As a Sessional Support & Duty Worker, you will maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment for young people living across our Leicester hubs. This role combines on-site supervision, welfare monitoring, security oversight, and basic administration, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and accurate record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Conduct regular welfare checks (including during waking nights), monitor for signs of exploitation or self-harm, and respond calmly to incidents or emergencies.
- Support & Continuity: Build rapport with young people across all hubs to ensure a consistent support network. Act as an "Appropriate Adult" and accompany young people to appointments when required.
- Security & Environment: Monitor CCTV, ensure building security (key management, locking/unlocking), respond to fire alarms, and perform regular health, safety, and room cleanliness checks.
- Administration: Record precise shift notes, welfare checks, and incidents into our CRM system. Manage reception duties and complete thorough handovers between shifts.
- Financial Duties: Collect and record rent payments, maintaining awareness of individual rent accounts.
What We Are Looking For (Person Specification)
Essential Criteria:
- Experience: Previous experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable individuals in a residential, care, housing, or youth setting.
- Skills: Exceptional verbal/written communication, strong observational skills, and basic IT competence (emails, electronic logs).
- Mindset: Ability to remain calm under pressure, maintain strict professional boundaries, and work independently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, waking nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Mobility: This is a mobile role requiring frequent travel between our Leicester hubs.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with 16–17 year olds in Ofsted-regulated services.
- Experience with waking nights or lone-working.
- A qualification in youth work, social care, housing support, or a valid First Aid certificate.
