Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window and Door Fitter to head a new team van and tools supplied . The successful candidate will be responsible for installing windows and doors across various residential and commercial projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a wide range of construction skills within a professional environment, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. Applicants should have a minimum 5 years experience and be comfortable working with various tools and materials. Experience in Upvc aluminium , and composite doors . The ability to install conservatory roofs advantage but not essential.

ability to do basic Brickwork , electrical work,and plastering will be considered advantageous. The position is paye with holiday entitlement and suitable for individuals committed to high standards . Good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, assemble, and install windows and doors according to project specifications and schematics
Ensure all installations are secure, weatherproof, and compliant with safety standards
Use hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and fabrication equipment effectively and safely
Assist with the preparation of surfaces through plastering or masonry work as needed
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing installations
Follow health and safety regulations at all times during installation processes
Read technical drawings, schematics, or construction plans to ensure accurate fitting

Skills

Proficiency in using hand tools such as drills, saws, levels, and screwdrivers
Experience with power tools including grinders, sanders, or welding equipment
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, or masonry is desirable but not essential
Strong understanding of the window and door industry .
Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy materials and work at heights safely
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
