Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Part Time School Cleaner to join our team that work at primary school in Oakham. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise classrooms, hallways, toilets, and common areas in accordance with school standards
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness
Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
Maintain confidentiality regarding school operations and staff

Requirements

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Reliable with a professional attitude towards work duties
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
Ability to pass any necessary background checks required by the school policies (Enhanced DBS)

Hours/shifts

Start time of 330pm, Monday to Friday (term time) for 3 hours each shift

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
