Join a Leading TV & Film Set Building Team
EC Creative Services Ltd is a well-established set-building company with over 25 years of experience creating high-quality sets for the TV, film, and exhibition industries across the UK and internationally.
With increasing demand for British-made productions, particularly in Manchester and throughout the North, we're looking for an experienced joiner to join our growing full-time team.
About the Role
This is not your typical carpentry or joinery position. Every project is different, offering the opportunity to work on exciting, bespoke builds for television, film, and exhibition clients.
Working alongside our skilled team, you'll be involved in creating custom-built sets and display pieces using a variety of materials, including:
- Timber and engineered sheet materials
- Plastics and composites
- Bespoke finishes and specialist construction techniques
You'll also have the opportunity to work on-site when required and collaborate closely with our metalworking team to bring creative designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Build bespoke TV, film, and exhibition sets to client specifications
- Work accurately from technical drawings and plans
- Use a variety of materials and construction methods
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
- Assist with on-site installations when required
- Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to deliver high-quality finished products
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a skilled and reliable carpenter who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys the challenge of creating one-off projects.
Essential:
- Time-served carpenter/joiner with relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of materials and construction methods
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Desirable:
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery (or equivalent)
- Full clean driving licence
Regular overtime is available and expected during busy periods:
- Time and a half paid after 40 hours worked
- Double time paid on Sundays
