Full job description

The Sheridan Group is looking to appoint an experienced and commercially driven Head of FM & Commercial Sales to lead the continued growth of our Facilities Management division.

This is a senior position for someone who understands Facilities Management commercially and operationally, but who also has a proven ability to win new contracts, develop client relationships and grow revenue.

We don’t want a traditional salesperson who simply hands a contract over once it has been won.

We want somebody who understands the full commercial journey — identifying opportunities, pricing and tendering, winning contracts, mobilisation, commercial performance, client development and ultimately retaining and growing the account.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the commercial growth of Sheridan FM

* Develop and execute the FM sales and business development strategy

* Identify and win new FM, PPM, maintenance and facilities contracts

* Build relationships with property managers, managing agents, main contractors, developers and large commercial organisations

* Manage and develop existing key accounts

* Lead major tenders, bids and commercial proposals

* Work closely with estimating, QS, operations and senior management

* Ensure contracts are correctly priced and commercially viable

* Support mobilisation of newly secured contracts

* Monitor contract performance, margins and profitability

* Identify opportunities for additional services and cross-selling

* Develop a strong and measurable sales pipeline

* Manage and improve the performance of the FM commercial/sales team

* Report directly to senior Group management on pipeline, wins, forecasts and commercial performance

* Help build Sheridan FM into a major regional and ultimately national FM business

The Person

We are particularly interested in candidates who already have a strong network and track record within the Facilities Management, construction, property or commercial maintenance sectors.

You should be able to demonstrate:

* Proven experience within Facilities Management or a closely related sector

* Strong commercial understanding

* A successful track record of winning significant B2B contracts

* Experience with tenders, frameworks and procurement processes

* Understanding of contract pricing, margins and profitability

* Strong client relationship and account-management skills

* Ability to generate your own opportunities as well as convert company-generated leads

* Experience managing or developing a sales/commercial team

* Confidence dealing with senior decision-makers and large organisations

* A genuine desire to build a division rather than simply fill a sales position

Package

£55,000–£90,000+ basic salary depending on experience
